I stand by my stance. These guys couldn't care less about the spirit of surfing...Sponsoring is all about the money you get in return, not how? much you provide for the community. Smaller companies I have respect for but the mega corps pushing overly expensive gear while paying slave labor wages in third-world countries for production, nope. I started then continued surfing for simple reasons and those reasons never changed over the years. I think surfing stays the same

Any exposure is overexposure technically. Surfing was never about a massive industry selling tons of overpriced junk around the globe so people could feel "cool" and "groovy". Teahupoo happens to be photogenic and in "tahiti", great for marketting and easy to get to unlike some of the crazier waves on the planet. Why? not just appreciate the beauty of the wave and condemn the corporations. Teahupoo didn't do you any harm :)
